About Us
Dumaresq Brigade is located in Armidale's East
Mann Street and occupies a 2-bay station adjacent
to the New England Zone Fire Control Centre.

The Brigade operates 2 firefighting appliances and
has available to it a further 2 appliances (Zone
spares/training vehicles housed in a shed next to
the station).

The Brigades' first-due truck is a 2001 Category
11 4WD medium pumper set up for structural
firefighting. It has seating for 6, is capable of
supplying 2250 litres per minute and holds 1800
litres of water in it's onboard tank.
Our second truck is a 2007 Category 1 4WD
heavy tanker that is used for grass/bush
firefighting; and to support the Pumper. It holds
3300 litres of water and carries equipment suited
to rural firefighting roles; such as grassland sprays,
chainsaws & hand tools.

The brigade supports all other brigades within
approximately 50km of Armidale, and is first
reponse to all structure and road incidents in the
nearby Booralong, Commisioners Waters,
Dangarsleigh, Gara & Herbert Park brigade areas.
We also co-respond to most structural incidents in
the Devils Pinch, Diggings, Hillgrove &
Wollomombi brigade areas.

The Brigade has recently formed a Mutual Aid
Agreement (MAA) with the local NSW Fire
Brigades Station in the City of Armidale (205stn).
This means all major incidents in the city will be
co-attended by 205 stn and our brigade. Also joint
training between the brigades has been underway
since 2005.
